Stock Exchange: Milan closes down (-0.57%), Saipem and Unicredit weigh – Italy-World

(ANSA) – MILAN, AUGUST 20 – Piazza Affari closed the session down, with the Ftse Mib index down 0.57% to 33,075 points, amid thin trading for 1.75 billion euros in value, in line with the previous day’s figure. The spread between German 10-year BTPs and Bunds rose to 137.8 points, with the Italian annual yield down 2.3 points to 3.59% and the German one down 3.2 points to 2.21%. Saipem was in the black (-2.86%) with US crude oil moving little below $75 a barrel (Wti -0.03% to $74.35), which also penalized Tenaris (-2.72%) and Eni (-0.85%). Difficulties for banks, as in the rest of Europe, starting with Unicredit (-2.25%) and Popolare Sondrio (-2.13%). Also falling are Banco Bpm (-1.53%), Popolare Sondrio (-1.62%) and Bper (-1.3%), while Mps is more cautious (-0.57%). Few increases, limited to Generali (+0.68%), Recordati and Diasorin (both +0.5%). Stellantis is practically unchanged (+0.01%), Ferrari is more lively (+0.36%), profit taking is on Tim (-1.02%), in line with the trend of the sector in Europe, after the 4% jump the day before. Among the smaller capitalization stocks, Fidia (+7.42%) and Conafi (+6.97%) are in the spotlight, while Eph (-12.9%) and Tesellis (-3.91%), formerly Tiscali, are heavy. (ANSA).
