BNP’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed hope that BNP’s relationship with China will deepen. He also commented that China’s cooperation in the development of Bangladesh will increase in the coming days.

On Wednesday (August 21) morning, the top leaders of BNP had a meeting with Yao Wen, the Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh. BNP Secretary General told reporters after the hour-long meeting.

In the meeting held at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan, apart from the party’s general secretary, standing committee members Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain, Abdul Moin Khan, vice chairman Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, Nurul Islam Moni, legal affairs secretary barrister Kaiser Kamal participated.

Highlighting the meeting, Mirza Fakhrul said today’s meeting with the Chinese ambassador is important. For this we thank you on behalf of the team. We believe China’s commitment to development of Bangladesh will further increase cooperation. At the same time they have made it clear to us that they do not believe in hegemony. They have promised that China will stand by the people of Bangladesh in the geo-political situation of Bangladesh.

BNP Secretary General said, We are appreciating the important role China is playing in world politics. We express our sincere thanks and appreciation for China’s economic cooperation, especially in underdeveloped and developing countries.

He also said that China thinks that the relationship between the BNP and the Chinese Communist Party will become stronger and stronger. The cooperation for the development of the country will increase further. We also believe that our relationship with China will deepen. A relationship based on mutual trust will go further in the future.
