A case has been filed against 5 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Chief Justice Khairul Haque for killing office assistant of Rangpur Chemical Limited Feroze Talukdar alias Palash in Mirpur, capital’s Mirpur during the anti-discrimination movement.
On Wednesday (August 21), Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka. Reshma Sultana, the deceased’s wife, filed a case in Mehdi Hasan’s court. The court accepted the statement of the plaintiff and directed the Mirpur Model Police Station to accept the complaint as evidence.
The other defendants in the case are former bridge minister Obaidul Quader, former interior minister Asaduzzaman Kamal and former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun. Apart from this, the leaders of Awami League and the erring senior officials of the law and order force have been named as accused.
The plaintiff’s lawyer Morad Hasan Salim gave this information.
It is alleged in the case that former Chief Justice Khairul Haque unilaterally canceled the caretaker government system by ignoring the opinion of all other lawyers on the orders of Sheikh Hasina. Ignoring the wishes of her judgment courts, the undeclared dictatorship in the country allowed Sheikh Hasina and her cronies to exercise state power arbitrarily. Later, in 2014 and 2018, Sheikh Hasina and other defendants came to power several times through alleged elections against the aspirations of the people and killed people through murder, disappearance and crossfire, along with oppression, torture and curtailing freedom of speech.
Apart from this, Feroz Talukder was shot dead by a helicopter while crossing Mirpur-10 Golchakkar at around 6 pm on July 19 during the students’ agitation demanding quota reform. When he was taken to the nearest hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
