“Leicester City is pleased to confirm that talented Kasey McAteer, a former Academy player, has signed a new long-term contract with the Club, extending his contract for at least until 2028. The 22-year-old, who joined the City at the age of eight, made his first-team debut against Newcastle United in December 2021. After establishing himself as a key player for the Club’s Development Squad, the winger had a successful season last year and helped the Foxes return immediately to the Premier League as winners of the Sky Bet Championship. He scored his first senior goal against Rotherham United in August 2023 and last season netted another six goals in all competitions. McAteer’s goal against the Millers was followed by strikes in significant league victories against Southampton, Norwich City, Stoke City, and Preston North End, while the winger also scored in the League Cup against Liverpool.”
