The first three matches of the Champions League playoffs concluded, with the home teams smiling in all the encounters that took place tonight (20/08).
Lille, Dinamo Zagreb, and Bodo Glimt achieved victories, whether easy or hard, against Slavia Prague, Karabakh, and Red Star Belgrade respectively, taking the first step towards entering the new League Phase of the top European club competition.
In France, Lille, which eliminated José Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe in the previous round, overcame Slavia Prague with a score of 2-0, gaining a “clean” advantage to get acquainted with the new format of the premier tournament.
Dinamo Zagreb crushed Karabakh with a score of 3-0 at home, securing a huge lead for qualification. The scoring was opened by Marko Pjaca in the 30th minute, and in the second half, in just 5 minutes, Kulenović scored two goals (75’, 80’), bringing the final score to 3-0.
Finally, in Norway, Bodo Glimt managed to overcome the resistance of Red Star Belgrade with a score of 2-1. Bjørtoft found the net in the 52nd minute, and Maata scored in the 62nd minute for the hosts, while Mimosh reduced the score for the reds in the 75th minute.
