The Russian Foreign Ministry, the Federal Air Transport Agency and Rostourism are working to organize the export of Russians from European countries who cannot return home due to the closure of the skies of Europe for Russian aircraft, according to a joint statement of Rostourism, published on Sunday, February 27.

“The work to organize the export of Russian citizens from European countries is carried out by the Federal Air Transport Agency together with the Russian Foreign Ministry and Rostourism. After specifying the required carrying volumes, a schedule will be formed. Russian airlines are ready to fulfill their obligations to passengers and deliver them home, subject to flexible approaches and constructive decisions of the aviation authorities of European countries on this issue,” the document says.

On Sunday, February 27, it became known about a group of Russian language school students stuck at a Paris airport due to the order of the French authorities to close the country’s sky for Russian aircraft. According to one of the students, the guys are at a loss, without money and do not know how to proceed.

On February 27, France banned flights over its territory for Russian aircraft. On the same day, several other countries closed the airspace for Russian aircraft: Germany, Italy, Sweden, Iceland, the Netherlands, Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Canada, and Spain. Earlier, Romania, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria also joined the sanctions.
