“A neighbor wrote that he saw a UFO from his yard. So, my mother and I went to ours [kiemą] to see if we can see anything. They were too far away for me to say with certainty that they were alien flying saucers. After being outside for 10 minutes, we counted six [objektus]”, – wrote one resident of the area north of Los Angeles.
In all, at least five witnesses have seen one or all of what are said to be half a dozen UFOs.
Their reports of “bright lights” that resembled “aircraft hanging in the air” caused a veritable storm on social networks, and along with them appeared creepy videos, which are said to have captured some of the alleged UFOs.
However, many experts said that these videos are likely to be “misleading”.
According to them, visual indications in the videos appear to show swarms of drones being used for an LED light show thousands of kilometers from California.
Also, some of these UFO videos use old and unrelated audio tracks instead of the original soundtrack.
Electrical engineer John Tedesco, who directs Harvard’s Galileo Project UFO Research Laboratory, said that “the first two videos look a little suspicious. The movement of lights is well organized. It could be drone squads.”
Still, he admitted, “the quality of the videos doesn’t give much of a clue.”
Further evaluations by Mr. Tedesko and other specialists only strengthened these suspicions and suggested that the videos were completely unrelated to the original UFO reports on the Ring neighbors app.
Ted Roe, co-founder of the US National Center for Aviation Reporting of Anomalous Phenomena (NARCAP), said the videos appeared to be “fake”.
“As far as I can tell, the footage is misleading, using footage from a drone show in Hawaii and a soundtrack that has already been used in several other videos,” Roe said.
However, this does not explain the UFO reports of citizens appearing on the Ring neighbors app.
According to experts, these UFO reports may be related to recent rumors of drone incursions into the top-secret US Air Force aerospace test facility Plant 42, located in the area over which unidentified objects have been sighted.
“Over the past few months, we have observed numerous drone systems over Plant 42,” Edwards Air Force Base spokeswoman Mary Kozaitis told defense news site The War Zone on Monday.
According to M. Kozaitis, the number of drones fluctuated, they were of various sizes and models. “The FAA has been notified of the intrusions and Edwards Air Force Base continues to monitor the airspace to ensure the safety of base personnel, facilities and assets,” she added.
