Enel rejects the position of the SEC and the Ministry of Energy

In response to the announcement by the Superintendency, Enel Distribution stressed in a public statement that “has responded promptly and appropriately to each of the requirements formulated by the Superintendency of Electricity and Fuel (SEC) in order to restore the electricity supply to its customers, for which reason We were surprised by his statement, as well as by the comments of the Minister of Energy.”

Along these lines, the company stated that “we are fully confident that, once the SEC has all the information and documentation of what has been done, it will arrive at a positive evaluation of what has been done. It was an extraordinary and unpredictable storm, with winds of up to 124 kilometers per hour in the Metropolitan Area, which caused the fall of more than 2,000 trees, 800 poles and large branches that destroyed the overhead distribution network and whose damage is only comparable to that observed during the 2010 earthquake.”

“Enel Distribución Chile dedicated all the human, logistical and material efforts available on the ground, We even obtained reinforcements from Italy and other Latin American countries, without sparing costs, in order to respond to our clients, who are our main concern,” he said.
