For the first time in the club’s history, 1. FC Heidenheim is playing in Europe. In its first game on the international stage, FCH celebrates a historic victory.

Coach Frank Schmidt and the proud 1. FC Heidenheim laid the foundation for entry into the Conference League in the first European Cup match in the club’s history. In the play-off first leg on the Gothenburg artificial turf of BK Häcken, the small Bundesliga team celebrated a 2:1 (1:1) win in constant rain on Thursday evening.

New signings Sirlord Conteh (31st minute) and Leonardo Scienza (65th) scored the FCH goals in the historic win in Sweden. Mikkel Rygaard (36th) equalized for the hosts. The return match will take place next Thursday in Ostalb.

90.+3: That’s it! 1. FC Heidenheim holds on to its 2-1 lead and wins 2-1 on its international competitive debut against BK Häcken in Sweden.

90.+1: This time the cross comes from Häcken’s left side, Hrstic rises up in the middle, but he doesn’t get a full hold of the ball. Goal kick for Heidenheim.

90. Minute: Three minutes will be added on.

89. Minute: Häcken keeps trying on his own left side, but Heidenheim’s Busch is alert and stops the offensive actions time and time again.

85. Minute: Now FCH manages to keep the home team a little further away from their own goal with their own possession of the ball. This is looking more and more like their first win in their first European Cup match.

82. Minute: So far, Heidenheim’s defense has held up against the hosts’ attacks, albeit with luck. Goalkeeper Feller had to make a desperate save against substitute Hrstic. It was close.

78. Minute: Now Conteh, the scorer of the historic first goal in Heidenheim’s European Cup history, has also finished work. Traoré is now on the pitch for him.

75. Minute: Youssef tries a heel kick from around seven meters, but Theuerkauf intervenes in time and blocks the shot.

72. Minute: Häcken now runs angrily, not wanting to accept the defeat. Meanwhile, goalscorer Scienza has to leave the field after suffering from cramps and had to be treated. Führungbach comes in for him.

69. Minute: There are still around 20 minutes left to play in Gothenburg. Will Schmidt’s team hold on to its lead?

65th minute: Scienza, who two minutes ago put a powerful long-range shot just wide of the goal, is now more precise. The new signing from Ulm receives the ball on the left half of the penalty area, takes it and flicks it with his right past the defender and goalkeeper into the far corner to give the visitors the lead again.

62. Minute: It’s now over for Kaufmann and Kerber on the Heidenheim side. Breunig and Maloney are in.

61. Minute: It becomes dangerous again in Heidenheim’s penalty area. Youssef just misses the pass from Inoussa. Just like Kaufmann on the other side, who can no longer give Scienza’s cross the decisive change in direction with his head. The ball goes just past the far post.
