The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported that 155 arrest warrants were issued this Thursday against gang members who are linked to MS-13 and who operated in the department of La Libertad.
“The FGR remains firm in its fight against gangs. This morning, it executed an operation with 155 arrest warrants against MS-13 gang members operating in the department of La Libertad,” the Attorney General’s Office said.
During this operation, they carried out 15 raids in different sectors of San Juan Opico and managed to seize a motorcycle, several cell phones, 8 weapons of war and documents that incriminate the detainees.
“With these efforts, the Attorney General’s Office is solving: 5 cases of aggravated homicide, 10 cases of extortion, 2 cases of disappearance of persons, 1 case of illegal arms trafficking and illicit groups,” said the FGR.
Highlighting, Some of the victims of these subjects were the Alas Moreno brothers, who disappeared in February 2022.
“The brothers were in their home located in San Juan Opico when some of these individuals arrived dressed as police and military personnel, subdued them and took them to an unknown destination,” the FGR added.
