jpnn.com – The Plenary Meeting with the original agenda to ratify the Regional Election Bill (RUU) was cancelled at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (22/8).

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, became the figure who led the Plenary Meeting to cancel the ratification of the Regional Election Bill.

Because, said the Gerindra Daily Chair, the Plenary Meeting did not reach a quorum so that the ratification of the Pilkada Bill into a regulation was not implemented.

“Therefore, we will reschedule the Bamus (Consultative Body, ed.) Meeting for a Plenary Meeting because the quorum is not met,” he said in a meeting, Thursday.

Dasco then banged the gavel to cancel the Pilkada Bill. The former head of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives then left the Plenary Meeting room.

The Chancellor of the National University of the Republic of Indonesia (UKRI) then gave a press statement to the media crew after the Pilkada Bill was not passed as a regulation.

Dasco said that the DPR had initially postponed the meeting for 30 minutes, but the quorum was not reached, which resulted in the ratification of the Pilkada Bill being cancelled this Thursday.

“Well, after being suspended for 30 minutes, the meeting participants did not meet the quorum, so according to existing regulations the meeting could not be continued,” he said.

The plenary session at the Indonesian House of Representatives Building to determine the Regional Election Bill into law was canceled because the session did not have a quorum. Here’s the situation.
