The National Consumer Service (Sernac) reported that CGE joined a Voluntary Collective Procedure (PVC) to compensate thousands of users for the power outages that lasted in some parts of the country for more than two weeks.
Sernac requested the opening of these PVCs with various electricity distribution companies, including Enel, CGE, Saesa, Frontel, Chilquinta and Codiner.
In response to this call from the organization, CGE agreed to initiate a Voluntary Collective Procedure, which was valued by the national director of Sernac, Andrés Herreraas it will allow compensation for consumers to be negotiated within a limited period of time.
“From today, we are working with CGE to reach an agreement as soon as possible that will allow compensation and indemnification for the consequential damages suffered by consumers, as well as for the moral damage experienced during these long days of power outages,” said Herrera.
The executive pointed out that it was important for CGE to join this process, Since at the peak of the power outages, the affected users reached 354,721 customers.especially in the Metropolitan and O’Higgins regions.
In this way, CGE joined Enel as the companies with which Sernac will start a working group to obtain the most appropriate compensation for the families.
