“Product warning” currently notifying consumers of tire recalls. A total of 4,300 tires from manufacturer ApolloTyres Ltd are affected. The error occurred at the factory in Gyöngyöshalász (Hungary). During quality control it was discovered that a contaminated tire compound had been used for a week.
However, the 4,300 coins affected did not remain in Hungary. Most, 3,540 units, were used to build vehicles in Europe. 266 units went to Turkey. Less than 200 made it to the United States and another 26 were used in the United Arab Emirates. The defective tires were installed in 28 ApolloTyres and Vredestein passenger car product lines. They were produced in the ninth calendar week of this year. So in the week from the third to the ninth of March.
Although only 4,300 of the tires produced are said to be affected, Apollo Tires plans to inspect all tires produced this week. This corresponds to approximately 55,000 coins.
