MDespite their somewhat crude appearance and the constant use they make, we have to believe that emojis make the world a better place. These figures that follow about five billion electronic messages every day do not make a language, but make our exchanges more authentic. We appreciate them introducing some human warmth, especially human nature, into the coldness of instant digital communication.
Appearing in 1997, emoji (a combination of art and writing in Japanese) can only be born in the Kingdom of the Rising Sun, where expressing personal feelings in public does not go without saying.
