The sectoral distribution reveals a predominance of trade with a share of 35%, followed by construction and public works – BTP (18.94%), various services (18.87%), transport (8.11%), industries (7.23%), hotels and restaurants (5.52%), the ICT sector – Information and communication technologies (2.67%), financial activities (2.10%) and agriculture and fishing (1.56%).
By region, Casablanca-Settat dominates the ranking with 12,721 companies created at the end of May, ahead of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (5,837), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (4,691), Marrakech-Safi (4,686), Fez-Meknes (2,848), Souss-Massa (2,784), the Oriental (2,416), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (1,718), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (1,205), Drâa-Tafilalet (953), Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab (674) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (305).
By legal form, the single-member limited liability company (SARL AU) comes first with a share of 65.2% of companies created, followed by the limited liability company (SARL) with 34.3%, and the public limited company (SA) with 0.2%.
