Civil society organizations, under the “Partners for Elections” program, launched their awareness campaigns on the importance of receiving a voter card.

In the south, the “Ataa Al Khair” Foundation implemented a number of activities in the Zuwaila Municipality. The activities targeted voters registered in the voters’ register to urge them on the importance of receiving a voter card. The focus was on women to encourage them to exercise their right to vote. They distributed brochures in the Tebu language to Tebu male and female voters, explaining the conditions for receiving the card and its importance.

In the western region, the Women’s Union, Tripoli branch, carried out two activities in the municipalities of Al-Amiriya and Al-Nasiriya, one of which was in cooperation with the Student Union of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at the University of Al-Jafara, where they distributed brochures to students, faculty members and employees at the university to raise their awareness of the importance of receiving a voter card.

According to what the Commission published, “In addition to holding an awareness session on the importance of receiving a voter card for members of the National Council for Women in Warshafana, in the training hall at the Azizia Electoral Administration Office, in the presence of the office’s awareness and communication coordinator.”

The National Association for Democracy and Development also held several awareness activities in the municipalities of Al Jadida and Zliten, where those registered in the voter registry in these municipalities were made aware by communicating with them directly by visiting them at their workplaces and at social events and distributing many awareness brochures on the importance of receiving a voter card.

In the eastern region, the National Organization for Libyan Youth, Al-Marj branch, carried out an awareness campaign in the municipality of Taknes by distributing awareness brochures to voters on the roads and in public places to educate them about the importance of receiving a voter card.

It is worth noting that the “voter” card is an official card issued by the Commission to every voter registered in the voters’ register to elect municipal councils. The card contains the voter’s name, number, and date of birth, and each card has its own number. The voter cannot vote without bringing this card with him, and anyone without the electoral card cannot “vote, run for office, or endorse any candidate.”
