Indices on DSE-CSE rise big, trading increased

The Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange (DSE-CSE) ended the week’s last business day on Thursday (August 22) with the indices closing higher. On this day, DSE and CSE saw an increase in transaction volume compared to the previous working day. However, the share price of most of the companies participating in the transaction in both the capital markets and mutual fund units fell on this day.

Indices on DSE-CSE rise big, trading increased

According to DSE and CSE sources, at the end of the day, the main index of DSE, DSEX, increased by 92.95 points from the previous day and stood at 5,699 points. The DSE Shariah index increased by 17.66 points to 1,219 points and the DS30 index increased by 42.95 points to 2,090 points.

A total of 394 shares and units of companies were traded on DSE. Among them, the share and unit prices of 151 companies increased, 210 decreased and 33 remained unchanged.

A total of Tk 778 crore 55 lakh shares and units were traded on DSE on Wednesday. Shares and units worth Tk 536 crore 83 lakh were traded on the previous working day.

On the other hand, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CSCX index increased by 122.33 points to 9 thousand 876 points. Overall index CASPI has increased by 194.22 points to 16 thousand 396 points, Sharia index has increased by 11.90 points to 1 thousand 39 points and CSE30 index has increased by 235.72 points to 12 thousand 953 points.

Shares and units of 195 companies were traded on CSE. Among them, the share and unit prices of 69 companies increased, 110 decreased and 16 remained unchanged.

At the end of the day, 13 crore 22 lakh shares and units were traded in CSE. Shares and units worth Tk 13 crore 16 lakh were traded on the previous working day.
