The High National Elections Commission announced that the process of distributing voter cards for the municipal elections will continue at card distribution centers from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Commission confirmed in a statement, “The distribution is taking place within (60) municipalities targeted for the municipal council elections (the first group),” noting that “a voter card is issued to every voter registered in the voters’ register to elect municipal councils in the municipalities targeted for the elections.”
She explained that without an electoral card, a citizen cannot vote, run for office, or even endorse candidates.
It is worth noting that the “voter card” is “an official card issued by the High National Elections Commission to every voter registered in the voters’ register to elect municipal councils. The card contains the voter’s name, number, and date of birth. Each card has its own number, and the voter cannot vote without bringing this card. Without the electoral card, we cannot vote, run for office, or endorse any candidate.”
How do you receive your “voter” card?
1- Go to the polling station where you registered, bringing proof of identity (passport, family booklet or national ID card).
2- Submit proof of identity to the identity verification officer.
3- Receive your card after signing in the receipt register.
Who is issued a “voter” card?
It is issued to every voter registered in the voters’ register to elect municipal councils in the municipalities targeted by the elections.
It is worth noting that “the (voter) card distribution centers are open all days of the week except Friday, and therefore Saturday is an official working day in all its offices. Voters, both male and female, who have not received their cards can go to the centers where they registered to receive them. Candidates and observers can also submit registration and accreditation papers from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.”
