Because his goalkeeper made the same mistake again, Fürth’s coach Alexander Zorniger publicly criticized his goalkeeper. Not everyone understands the way he did it.
The harsh criticism of his goalkeeper Nahuel Noll by Fürth’s coach Alexander Zorniger surprised Bayern goalkeeper Sven Ulreich. “Unbelievable, such a statement from a coach in public,” commented the 36-year-old under an Instagram post by the TV channel Sky.
Zorniger had sharply criticized his goalkeeper Noll after his mistake before the 1:1 equalizer in the second division match between Fürth and Paderborn. “That annoys me immensely. He shouldn’t make that mistake again, otherwise his agent can call me and ask why he’s not playing,” the 56-year-old complained, also accusing his goalkeeper of “arrogance” (read more about Zorniger’s criticism here).
When Sky reporter Stefan Hempel subsequently pointed out Noll’s strong save a short time later against the same Grimaldi (85th), the Fürth coach wanted little to hear about it: “That’s journalistic thinking. It doesn’t give him the right not to do it at another time.”
The clarity and severity of the criticism surprised not only Ulreich, but also many football fans online, who criticized Zorniger for the manner in which he spoke.
