The participants were supposed to start at 1:30 PM, but the start was repeatedly delayed for safety reasons, as people drove within the restricted areas. Eventually, the organizer felt compelled to cancel the entire race because the start was too close to Color Hybrid’s arrival, according to Sandefjords Blad.
– We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to both the athletes and the volunteers. Most residents of Sandefjord have been kind, said the speaker to the participants in Badeparken, but he also added that there were exceptions:
– Some of the volunteers stationed at the barriers have found themselves in situations that scared them.
