Valve has, in a way, been forced to officially reveal its upcoming game titled Deadlock and set up the Steam page. Deadlock has been on the public’s radar since as far back as May this year, when the only invited alpha was launched on the aforementioned platform.
This makes it sound far more exclusive than it is, as each player had an unlimited number of invitations, so the game (and subsequently leaks) spread online like wildfire—so much so that Deadlock has already achieved a peak of 44,000 concurrent players before its launch. So yes, this is truly a secret…
Deadlock combines elements from third-person shooters with traditional MOBA elements, with a greater emphasis on the latter in strategic games expected to last around 30 minutes. Additionally, Deadlock is reportedly functional on both Windows and Steam Deck.
There isn’t much confirmed material from Valve’s side yet, with the game resources and on the Steam store being officially placeholder/experimental content, but how much will change between now and the game’s release is unknown, although I would guess that it won’t be very much (thanks, GameRant).
