The notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs banning Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islamic student camps will be revoked tomorrow Tuesday, the party’s lawyer Mohammad Shishir Monir said.
He gave this information in a press conference at the Supreme Court premises on Monday (August 26).
Shishir Monir said, I have spoken to the Ministry of Home Affairs. The ministry has said that the entire process has been completed. As today is a public holiday, I am hoping that the prohibition order will be lifted tomorrow (Tuesday).
He said, we do not know why Jamaat was banned. I think the party has been banned for political purposes. Because the country’s students have protested against the fascist government. Where Jamaat-e-Islami has also played a role as a supporting force. Dr. The party played an important role in forming the interim government of Yunus.
He further said that steps will be taken to revive the case in the Appellate Division to get the registration of the party back after the withdrawal of the Jamaat ban order.
Amidst the anti-discrimination student movement, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification banning Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, student camps and all related organizations under the Anti-Terrorism Act on August 1.
