AOSTA. Requests for contributions to support the alleged work of volunteers who would ensure the cleaning of hiking trails: summer scam attempts also reach the foot of the Monte Rosa massif.
The Municipality of Gressoney-La-Trinité, in a post, reports the “presence of some crafty people who, along the paths, are placing jars to collect donations ‘for the maintenance and cutting of the grass'”. However, these interventions are not the responsibility of volunteers: “We would like to point out – writes the local authority – that the maintenance of the paths is managed by the Municipality through an official contractor, selected through a public tender and already paid for this service”.
In short, the Municipality underlines, “These jars are not authorized and exploit the altruism and generosity of hikers. for non-transparent purposes. We invite anyone who notices the presence of such containers not to contribute by depositing money, and to report their location.”
