At the age of 89, Veta Proedrou took her last breath. Born on February 16, 1935, the actress from Thasos made significant appearances in Greek cinema, while she made a lasting impression with her unique voice on the radio.

Veta Proedrou was a collaborator of the Light Music Orchestra of the National Radio Foundation and has sung in several Greek films.

She had appeared in several films, such as: “How Married People Spend Their Time,” “The Poor Devils,” “A Turbulence of the Heart,” “Blind Abduction.”

The news of her death was announced by Spiros Bibilas with a post on social media.

“A sad piece of news at the beginning of the week is the departure from life of our beloved actress with the velvety voice, Veta Proedrou… She passed away today and will be buried tomorrow from Agios Vasilios in Exarchia on Metsovou Street. According to her wish, she will be laid to rest in a village in Nafplio, where she filmed her first movie Return to Mycenae. Born on February 16, 1935, she made significant appearances in Greek cinema and notably left her mark with her warm, distinctive voice on the radio with her shows and in singing, as she achieved great success in nightclubs as the muse of Chairopoulos. We honored her in the calendar-album of TASEE, where she was an esteemed member, in 2018. Safe travels, our beloved Veta.”
