Manuel Neuer’s contract with FC Bayern expires in the summer of 2025. It is still unclear whether he will extend it again.
Manuel Neuer has clarified his DFB future. The long-time regular goalkeeper and captain of the national team has announced his retirement. And at FC Bayern? His contract with the German record champions expires in the summer of 2025. It is still unclear what will happen after that.
Now Bayern boss Jan-Christian Dreesen has spoken out – and described what the plan looks like. “We are happy that Manuel will be in goal for FC Bayern next season and I am sure that we will be successful together with him. We have not yet discussed his future internally. The next few weeks and months will show how things develop,” Dreesen told “Bild”.
Manuel Neuer himself said in an interview with “Kicker” that he “is not going into the season with the idea of saying goodbye afterwards”.
After the end of his career, Neuer wants to “stay in the sport because I am an athlete and a keen Olympic watcher. If I can pass on my experience to athletes, that would be a nice task for the time afterward.” He would not limit himself “to football, but to sport.”
