Press reports revealed the first official move by the Al-Ahly Jeddah management to sign Nigerian Victor Osimhen, the Napoli striker, in preparation for signing him before the end of the current summer transfer period.
Osimhen’s name has been repeatedly linked with a move to Al-Ahly Jeddah, but Napoli has stipulated the release clause in his contract, estimated at around 120 million euros.
With Napoli close to completing a deal for Belgian Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea, Osimhen’s departure has become a matter of time, if the release clause in his contract is paid or an offer is received that satisfies the ambitions of the southern club.
According to what was stated by the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano via his official account on the social networking platform “X”, Al-Ahly submitted an initial offer to contract with Osimhen, for 65 million euros.
The journalist, who is an expert in football transfers, explained that Napoli is ready to give up Osimhen’s services, but the only obstacle is that Al-Ahly has not reached an agreement with the player yet.
Romano indicated in the same tweet that the deal is still far away, as Osimhen is studying other options, in addition to his unwillingness to go out on loan.
Osimhen is receiving great interest from several European clubs, most notably Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
