Security has been beefed up after protests inside the Indian visa application center in the capital’s Jamuna Future Park. The government has deployed an army unit there. Sources of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka informed this information.
Earlier visa applicants sought the return of their passports. Their passports were being returned to the Indian Visa Application Center at Yamuna Future Park on Monday. But while taking back the passport, suddenly some people protested. The people at the visa center were panicked. Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
After that, the Indian High Commission requested the government to increase the security there to prevent the recurrence of this incident. After that incident, the activities of the visa application center at Jamuna Future Park were closed on Tuesday.
It is learned that a unit of the army has been deployed at the visa center yesterday. Besides, additional police have been deployed from Bhatara police station. Security measures have been enhanced overall.
Regarding the visa, it is known that till now the visas which were waiting for medical visa approval are being given. No new visa applications are being accepted.
