New Delhi: Yash Dhul, captain of India’s 2022 Under-19 World Cup-winning team, has returned to competitive cricket after heart surgery. Rajesh Nagar, who has been Dhul’s coach for over a decade, said that the 21-year-old top-order batsman had to undergo surgery in July. The coach revealed that a small hole was found in Dhul’s heart during a routine scan during the Under-23 High Performance Camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Nagar said on Wednesday, “It was not a major surgery. It took him about 10 to 15 days to recover. He is not 100 percent fit yet in terms of his game and fitness, I would say he is about 80 percent fit, but fit enough.What did Rajesh Nagar say about Yash Dhul?

A hole in the heart is usually present at birth but surprisingly in Dhull’s case it was detected during his stay at the NCA in June-July. Nagar said, ‘It was a small hole and was there since birth, but it was detected now. He will be back to his best form very soon.’ Dhull is currently playing for Central Delhi Kings in the first Delhi Premier League. He has scored a total of 93 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 113.41 in which his highest score has been 52.

Domestic Career of Yash Dhul

Yash Dhul has played 23 first class, 19 List A and 20 T20 matches in domestic cricket so far. He has 1610 runs in first class cricket, 588 in List A and 588 in T20. Yash Dhul has also played in IPL. He plays for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. He has scored 16 runs in 4 matches played in IPL.
