Streaming Sites Take a Hit: Fboxz and Others Shut Down Amid Anti-Piracy Crackdown

by time news

After the Fmovies site, known in the piracy scene, ceased its activities, it seems that the list will now become even longer. Several sites focused on sharing streaming videos have recently confirmed that they will be shutting down, including the popular Fboxz, Aniwave, Anix, AnimeSuge, Zoroxtv, among others.

The authorities have initiated a new wave to try to reduce the number of sites on the internet sharing content illegally, with one of the latest casualties being the famous portal Fmovies. This was a well-known portal used for sharing movies and series in streaming, which suddenly stopped updating, before being confirmed as “shut down”.

Now, according to the portal TorrentFreak, Fboxz, which had direct links to Fmovies, has confirmed that it will stop providing new content and its activities will be terminated. The site received over 55 million monthly visits, largely from users who saw it as one of the main alternatives to Fmovies.

Unlike what happened with Fmovies, which simply stopped working, in the case of Fboxz, it now displays a message indicating the end of its activities. The message also thanks the entire community that has supported the portal in recent years.

In addition, the message indicates that the creators of the site appear to have changed their stance on piracy, with a message urging users to purchase content from their creators and support the creators of the same.

Besides this, other sites have also started displaying the same message, including Aniwave, Anix, AnimeSuge, and Zoroxtv, as well as other lesser-known sites. It is believed that these were being managed by the same person, who has now decided to completely shut down their activities.

The reason for the closure of the portals in question is still unknown, but given the high volume of sites that have started to cease their activities, it is quite likely that the measure is related to some activity from the authorities, and the crackdown on piracy content on the internet.
