‘World Theme Travel – 6400km of the Untouchable Realm, Western China’ Part 4 ‘Desert Flowers, Kuche and Kas’ will be broadcast on EBS1 TV today (29th) at 8:40 PM. Mr. Lee Chang-woon, CEO of K-content development company, will be joining us.

To the center of the ancient Silk Road, the unknown land of the West!

Discover traces of the colorful cultures that blossomed along the Silk Road, and discover hidden secrets in the vast land, including canyons, grasslands, snow-capped mountains, lakes, and deserts.

Following the traces of the Silk Road, you will also immerse yourself in the vivid daily lives of minority groups living in remote areas, past and present.

Another steppe encountered in Dukugonglu, passing through the Mongolian Bayinburuke (巴音布鲁克) grassland, we come across the last scenic spot of Dukugonglu, the Tianshan Mysterious Grand Canyon (天山神秘大峽谷). The numerous red and gold ridges and the strangely carved rocks due to wind erosion are engraved with the power of nature and the passage of time. The final destination of Dukugonglu, Kuche, is a city that means “crossroads” in the Uyghur language, and has been called an oasis city since ancient times, a crossroads of civilizations. Indian, Persian, and Chinese civilizations met and dispersed here. It is said that flowers bloom at the border. As various cultures mixed together, Kuche’s culture blossomed anew. Among them, the most representative dance is the local dance, Huxianmu. As you walk through the alleys of the old city, you can find traces of the old, splendid culture everywhere, and wherever you go on the streets, you can hear music and see people dancing.

The journey continues to the Taklamakan Desert. Running through the desert, we arrive at the ancient city of Kashgar, the hometown of the Uyghur people. Following the traces of the Silk Road left in the alleys of Kashgar, we come across the Bailaoyedejia (巴依老爷的家), the house of Bai Daishi, where we can get a glimpse of the life of the old merchants.
Time to finish the trip. Starting from Kashgar, you will pass through the Karakoram Highway and be enchanted by the absolute beauty of the Pamir Plateau, the Baisha Mountains and Karakul Lake. Standing before this magnificent nature, you will end the time of ecstasy in the unknown land of the West.
