Gapyeong-gun has finalized the emblem and mascot for the Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival. Gapyeong-gun (Governor Seo Tae-won) has finalized the official emblem, mascot, and slogan to be used for the 2025-2026 Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival. The 2025 Provincial Sports Festival will be held at Gapyeong Sports Complex as the ’15th Gyeonggi-do Disabled Sports Festival (2025.4. 24-4. 26)’ and the ’71st Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival (2025.5. 15-5. 17)’.
In April of last year, the county received the highest evaluation from Gyeonggi Province and won the bid to host the ‘2025 Gyeonggi Province Sports Festival’ and the ‘2026 Gyeonggi Province Sports Festival for All’ in Gapyeong County. The Gyeonggi Province Sports Festival is the largest sports event ever held in Gapyeong County, and it is expected that approximately 20,000 people, including athletes and coaching staff, will visit Gapyeong during the event.
The competition emblem is a design that combines the initials of Gapyeong-gun, ‘G’ and ‘P’, and emphasizes the venue. In addition, the design of the ribbon unfolding dynamically symbolizes the joy of cutting through the wind, and contains the message of the powerful movement and infinite growth of Gyeonggi-do residents.
The mascot was designed to be holding a torch, using the military’s characters, ‘Gatpyeong-i’ and ‘Songsongi’, and was intended to increase the brand promotion effect of the Provincial Sports Festival and the military.
The slogans for the Gyeonggi Provincial Sports Festival and the Disabled Sports Festival are based on the slogans of Gyeonggi Province and Gapyeong County, with the phrases ‘Healing the Gapyeong, Opportunity the Gyeonggi’ and ‘Healing the Gapyeong, Change the Gyeonggi’ using the Gapyeong County wave font design.
Gapyeong-gun has been working on the development of a symbol and manual for the Gyeonggi-do Comprehensive Sports Festival since March, and finalized the design of the symbol for the competition through deliberation by the Public Design Promotion Committee in June and consultation with the Gyeonggi-do Sports Council on the symbol in July.
The military plans to use 11 basic items, including emblems, mascots, and posters, and 6 items, including signs, facility materials, and flags, to promote the Provincial Sports Festival.
Meanwhile, following the 2025 Provincial Sports Festival, the ‘Gyeonggi Province Sports Festival for Everyday Life’ and the ‘Disabled Sports Festival for Everyday Life’ will be held in Gapyeong in September 2026.
