jpnn.comJAKARTA – Alfian Risfil Auton won the prestigious MH Thamrin Journalism Award 2024.

Through his work entitled “When Ondel-Ondel Becomes a ‘Sacrifice’ in the Glittering Corners of Jakarta” which contains writing about the anxiety of Betawi arts and culture activists, journalists RRI.co.id from Bawean Island, Gresik, East Java
was named the winner for the ‘Feature Article’ category.

Alfian also won the prestigious HM Thamrin Award 2024 trophy and a prize of IDR 15 million.

In the same category, Kompas journalist Maria Clara won second place with an article entitled “Jakarta’s Traffic Jams Require Cooperation from All Parties”.

Third place was won by Media Indonesia journalist Mathias Sembiring with his work “Groundwater Extraction is Worrying”.

The award was presented at the 50th MH Thamrin Journalism Award Peak at the DKI Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (28/8/2024).

This event was initiated by the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Jaya together with the Information, Communication, and Statistics Service (Diskominfotik) of the DKI Provincial Government.

PWI Jaya Chairman Kesit Budi Handoyo in his speech appreciated the works sent by hundreds of participants.
