On March 6, the largest ethnographic park-museum in Russia, Etnomir, will celebrate the Wide Maslenitsa. Traditionally, this folk festival is one of the largest events of the year. The event brings together the original Russian traditions and customs of the peoples of the world on the meeting of spring. 2022 will be no exception.

Guests of Ethnomir are waiting for thematic excursions, performances by artists, handicraft workshops, street festivities, quests, a fair, traditional dishes according to historical recipes, and – the culmination of the holiday – the burning of a huge effigy of Maslenitsa!

Thematic sites will be organized on the territory of the park-museum, each of which will show guests how they celebrate farewell to winter in Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Greece, Germany, Ukraine, Italy and other countries.

Guests of Ethnomir will get acquainted with the German “Procession of Spirits”, visit the carnival, get acquainted with the Chinese dragon and even call a genie. Interesting surprises await fans of outdoor activities: quests based on traditional games and rituals will tell you why single guys were dragged by the hair on Maslenitsa, and girls were “sold”, they will give inexpressible sensations that can be experienced only once – for the first time climbing onto the “pillar of ice” .

Seeing off winter and meeting spring in Ethnomir is held during the week: from February 28 to March 6. Every day of the week, extraordinary adventures, an excursion program and master classes await guests. The culmination of the celebration will be the burning of a huge effigy of Maslenitsa on March 6th.
