A Russian man who wanted to blow up a recruitment center in his homeland was sentenced today to 18 years in prison, France Press reported.

The trial against 39-year-old Artyom Lozovoy took place behind closed doors. He was found guilty on charges of treason, planning an assassination and possession of explosives. The case was heard in a military court in Moscow.

Lozovoy was arrested in the fall of 2023. A few weeks after his arrest, Lozovoy was fined 30,000 rubles (293 euros) for sharing on the VKontakte social network a video criticizing the Russian offensive in Ukraine.

In another military court in Rostov-on-Don, a Ukrainian was sentenced today to four and a half years in prison for preparing a terrorist act in Stavropol in 2022. Andriy Matsenyuk was accused of buying products for the creation of an incendiary device on the orders of a representative of the Ukrainian special services mixture to set fire to a local recruitment center, writes BTA.

Meanwhile, a Russian dog trainer – Anastasia Zibrova – was sentenced to five years in prison by a court in Odintsovo for a VKontakte message criticizing Russia’s war in Ukraine.
