These 4.6x30mm pistol-machine guns were developed and standardized in NATO armies to meet the needs of operations in confined spaces. This is the first time that the Lithuanian army will use MP7 A2 submachine guns.

Compared to the larger caliber pistols-machine guns used in the Lithuanian army, the MP7 A2 has smaller dimensions. This will greatly facilitate the coordination of actions in the team when operations take place in a limited space. Due to the reduced size of the bullet caliber, but increased powder charge in the muzzle, the MP7 A2 has a higher penetration power, higher speed and meets the requirements for rapid fire.

This 4.6x30mm ammunition allows you to penetrate ballistic protections, which the 9x19mm ammunition cannot. The lighter weight and reduced bullet caliber allows the soldier to carry almost twice as much ammunition. The weight of the pistol-machine gun is 1.8 kilograms.

The MP7 A2 submachine gun is suitable for personal protection due to its suitable size and the ability to carry it concealed under clothing. The weapon is widely used in 24 NATO countries by armies, police and other special forces. services.

Armaments are purchased not only in accordance with the long-term capacity development plans of the army, but also in rapid response to what is required by the daily changing security situation in the region, as well as lessons learned from Ukraine.

This year, dozens of projects for the acquisition of weapons and equipment important to the army are completed and continued successfully, the implementation of which will significantly strengthen the army’s combat power, protection of soldiers, maneuver on land, defense of airspace, intelligence and logistic capabilities.
