Participating in the competition, OGC Nice and Olympique Lyonnais will discover their European opponents with the draw for the 2024-2025 Europa League on Friday August 30 at 1 p.m.
As expected, the format changes with the abandonment of the traditional group stage in favor of a group consisting of 36 teams involved. Each team will face eight different opponents, four at home and four away. On occasion, and to avoid a long and tedious process, manual drawing has been replaced by an automated formula.
Each of the teams will see a ball drawn randomly from the bowl by a person, with its opponents then presented in real time by a computer with two requirements: a team cannot play against a team that belongs to the same league, or against more than two teams from the same other championship.
The draw for the regular season of the Europa League can be followed from 1 pm on Canal + Foot, Friday August 30, 2024.
