French media reported, citing a source close to the investigation, that Telegram founder Pavel Durov, who was detained in France, had his detention extended on Sunday evening.

According to French media, the investigative judge in Durov’s custody extended his detention beyond Sunday afternoon.
French media also said that the initial detention period for questioning in France could last a maximum of 96 hours.
The media also reported that the judge could decide to release Durov or charge him and detain him once the initial detention phase is over.
French media reported on Saturday afternoon that Durov was detained at Le Bourget Airport. This happened while he was leaving a private plane, which allegedly came from Azerbaijan. Durov, who holds French citizenship, was said to be on the country’s most wanted list.
