Severe Flood Warnings Issued as Typhoon Triggers Rising Water Levels in Saitama Prefecture

Due to heavy rain from the typhoon, the Iruma River and Koaze River (Iruma-gawa, Koaze-gawa) flowing through Saitama Prefecture have swollen, and a flood danger information (equivalent to warning level 4) was announced at 1:25 AM.

At the Kogaya water level observation station on the Iruma River (Kawagoe City), it has reached the “flood danger water level.” There is a danger of flooding due to levee breaches, and flooding is possible in Saitama City, Kawagoe City, Asaka City, Shiki City, Wako City, Fujimi City, Sakado City, Fujimino City, and Kawajima Town in Hiki District.

Additionally, at the Yahata Bridge water level observation station on the Koaze River (Kawagoe City), it has also reached the “flood danger water level.” There is a risk of flooding due to levee breaches on the Koaze River, and areas such as Kawagoe City, Sakado City, and Kawajima Town in Hiki District may experience flooding.

It is dangerous to go and see the river conditions, so please refrain from doing so. Please ensure your safety by moving to upper floors that are less prone to flooding.
