Kolkata: The Nabanna movement was held on 27 August against the Kolkata incident. In this, Kolkata Police used force by using water cannons to remove the protesters, but Balaram Bose, wearing saffron clothes, caught everyone’s attention in this protest. Balaram Bose faced the water cannons being fired by Kolkata Police while carrying the national flag. Bose also challenged the police to fire more cannons during the protest. The old man faced the water cannons very well during the protest. Balaram Bose has given his reaction on the pictures going viral on social media.
Told why you went to the protest
According to Balram Bose, he had gone to the protest on the call of a student. According to Bose, it was being said everywhere that one man from every house should go. He told that he also has a daughter. In the family, there is a sister and elder sister along with brother’s wife. Bose says that he is concerned about security. Women should be respected in society, if women are not respected then even gods do not reside in that place. Police had done barricading on a large scale to stop the Nabanna movement. Police had used force after the stone pelting incident but Balram Bose stood firm in front of the barrage of Kolkata Police. After this, police had also registered many FIRs. Police had claimed that force was used for stone pelting.
I was doing my job
On the question of fighting the water cannons, Bose said that he was doing his duty in the movement. He said that while participating in the movement, he believed that he was doing his duty. Bose said that even if he had died there, he would not have left the place. Bose said, I was signaling them to be free from that slavery. Which the policemen were following. They were working on the instructions of an autocratic regime. By showing the bangle in my hand, I was trying to tell them to leave the handcuffs and join our march. Bose said that this issue should not be made political. Otherwise, another march will have to be taken out. Bose said that if they cannot find a solution, then spray water with such force that we all get washed away.

Balram Bose, who lives in the guise of a saint, is the grandson of Kamal Bose, who was the mayor of Kolkata. Kamal Bose was the son of Bhupendra Bose. Bhupendra Bose was associated with the Congress. Balram Bose has studied till MTech. He likes to teach mathematics. His family has property worth crores of rupees in Kolkata, but he took sanyaas 10 years ago.
