Siliwangi Military Information Officer Reveals Condition of TNI Soldiers Who Suffered Mass Poisoning Before Escorting Jokowi’s Visit

jpnn.comTASIKMALAYA – Kapendam III/Siliwangi Colonel Inf. Davy Darma Putra said that TNI soldiers participating in the preparation for the visit of President Joko Widodo to Tasikmalaya, West Java, who had food poisoning have started to improve after receiving treatment at the hospital.

He explained that around 49 participants of the roll call, which was a combination of TNI, Polri and other agencies, had food poisoning.

“Of the 49, 15 are TNI soldiers. Their condition is currently improving,” said Kapendam III/Siliwangi when contacted in Jakarta, Wednesday.

He said that his party was conducting further investigations and inquiries, including regarding the cause of the mass poisoning incident which is currently being handled by the police.

Soldiers from the III/Siliwangi Military Command together with troops from the National Police and other agencies took part in a troop roll call in the city center of Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java, Wednesday, in preparation for security to welcome the working visit of the President of the Republic of Indonesia to the Leuwikeris Dam, Thursday (29/8).

After the roll call, the ceremony participants, who numbered approximately 500 people, received food and ate together.

The food menu given to the apple participants is yellow rice, eggs, perkedel, sambal, and cucumber slices.

At around 12:00 WIB, many of the participants who ate the food vomited and felt weak, dizzy, and nauseous. Some of them were rushed to the Manonjaya Health Center, and some were taken to the Banjar City Hospital, Mitra Idaman Hospital, Banjar City, to get help and treatment.

A number of TNI soldiers who were poisoned in mass before escorting President Joko Widodo’s visit to Tasikmalaya are starting to recover.
