Within the framework of Breastfeeding Month, the Autonomous Executive Port Commission (CEPA) held an activity in which personnel from all the autonomous institutions and members of the Institutional Breastfeeding Committee (CILAM) participated.
The event included educational talks on breastfeeding, where topics such as the essential components of breast milk and the benefits for the mother and baby were addressed, as well as questions and common myths about this important aspect of parenting.
These sessions were led by experts in the field, who provided updated and practical information. “Breastfeeding is the best start for your life,” said First Lady of the Republic of El Salvador, Gabriela de Bukele.
They also organised interactive activities where their skills and knowledge were put into practice. Attendees had the opportunity to dress a baby in simulated situations and demonstrated the correct position for breastfeeding, thus strengthening their confidence in these crucial tasks.
One of the highlights was the presentation and explanation of the equipment available in the breastfeeding rooms and cabins located in CEPA ports and airports. These facilities are designed to offer a comfortable, private and clean environment, allowing employees to extract breast milk with complete peace of mind and ease during their workday.
