Every day, Krisztina Szkárosi shares a childhood photo of her son, Balázs Tóth, on her Facebook page, in case her child sees it too. The 19-year-old disappeared on August 20, his birthday, but the whole country is worried about him in vain, and they are looking for him everywhere, as if the earth had swallowed him, he writes the Pepper.

Balázs disappeared in the afternoon after a minor family dispute. Once he sneaked home to change his clothes, then set off. No one knows where he could have gone – only one thing is certain: a camera recorded that he went down a flight of stairs at a bus stop a few hundred meters from his home.
At the end of August, he seemed to have appeared in Miskolc, but no one has confirmed this yet. Ten days have passed since Balázs’s disappearance, and Krisztina Szkárosi sends heartbreaking messages to her child – the boy’s childhood pictures keep her soul alive, while she remembers Balázs’ smiling face.
All of Bükkaranyos is trying to find Balázs, but it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack.
The police, Balázs’s friends and the Spider Rescue Team are also looking for them with rescue dogs. They search for him every day with five dogs, including rescue dog Hope. The dog was also a huge help during the earthquake in Turkey in February 2023: then the legendary dog found one of the Turkish boys under the ruins.

The boy is well trained in rescues – that’s why Krisztina Szkárosi is happy that the Spider Rescue Team took up the search for her son.
– The Spideres are a professional team, the best! They are considered one of the biggest helpers! Balázs’s mother told Bors.
However, the searchers are running out of time: the rescue team has already looked through most of the village – they have visited all the abandoned, empty houses, castles, wine cellars, and searched for Balázs in streambeds and ravines – but so far they have not found him anywhere.
– There are still white spots on our map where we haven’t been, we go there and search with the dogs. Depending on the weather, the person’s trail can be felt by the dogs for 12 hours after the disappearance, so Hope and the other search dogs can no longer smell Balázs. That’s why we can’t track him either. If we comb through an area and the boy is not there, that is also a success for us, László said.
