Minister of Trade reveals to (WAA) the economic objectives of the Prime Minister’s visit to Egypt

Today, Tuesday, Minister of Trade Athir Dawood Al-Ghariri revealed the objectives of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani’s visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, while stressing the removal of obstacles to the entry of Egyptian industries into the Iraqi market.

The Minister of Trade told the (INA): “The Prime Minister’s visit to Egypt today comes to achieve the slogans we believe in and to achieve real cooperation and integration for Egyptian companies to enter the Iraqi market and vice versa in the Egyptian market.”

He added, “There are many readings and procedures ordered by the Prime Minister that come as a continuation of previous directives and removing obstacles to the entry of Egyptian industries into Iraq and forming partnerships with the private sector to create a real industry, including pharmaceutical and food industries.”

He continued, “We are working to remove obstacles facing Egyptian investors and companies to increase the volume of trade exchange to the level of ambition and the size of the relationship between the two countries.”

He pointed out that “the Prime Minister’s meetings with a number of investors resulted in an agreement to hold a meeting in Baghdad with industrialists and that the participation of Egyptian companies in the upcoming Baghdad International Fair will be effective and exceptional.”

Al-Ghariri said, “Iraq and Egypt believe in full and complete cooperation and removing all obstacles from the Iraqi side, and the Egyptian President also expressed his readiness to provide facilities, which created a great incentive to increase the volume of trade exchange and attract real industries within Iraq in partnership between the public and private sectors.”

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani began an official visit to Egypt today, Tuesday, where he met with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

During the meeting, he pointed out – according to an official statement – “the depth of the relationship between Iraq and Egypt, which has made significant progress in terms of distinguished cooperation,” stressing “Iraq’s keenness to cooperate and open up to Egyptian companies, especially in the fields of housing, agriculture and water management.”

The Prime Minister pointed out, “The work of the Iraqi-Egyptian Joint Committee continues, and his direct follow-up of the progress it is making, especially cooperation in the oil transformation industries.”
