Military survival variety show ‘Steel Troop’ is launching its first female soldier special of the season, ‘Steel Troop W’.
Channel A’s ‘Steel Troop W’, which has confirmed its first broadcast on October 1st, Armed Forces Day, is a military survival program where elite female soldiers form teams and fight for the honor of their unit. PD Shin Jae-ho, who successfully led ‘Steel Troop’ 1~3, and writer Kang Sook-kyung, who wrote ‘Steel Troop’ 1~2 and ‘Physical 100’, have joined forces once again.
Kim Sung-joo, Kim Hee-chul, Kim Dong-hyun, Chuu, and Jang Eun-sil will be joining as MCs for ‘Steel Troop W’. Choi Young-jae will also rejoin as a ‘master’ who goes back and forth between the field and the studio. Kim Sung-joo, Kim Hee-chul, Kim Dong-hyun, and Choi Young-jae, who have already built fantastic teamwork while working together on the entire ‘Steel Troop’ series, are determined to vividly convey the fierce competition between the elite female military units to the living rooms with a completely new mindset, as ‘Steel Troop W’ is launching its first female military special.
Chuu, who played the role of an ’empathy fairy’ with her characteristically honest reactions in seasons 1 and 3, is expected to increase fun and empathy by deeply immersing herself in the story of the Steel Unit members from the perspective of a fellow woman this time.
Lastly, Jang Eun-sil, a former national wrestling representative and rising star of the ‘strong woman’ movement, is joining the MC corps. Jang Eun-sil is a survivor who has already shown a strong presence as the only female team leader in ‘Physical 100’. In this ‘Steel Troop W’, she will analyze and point out the performances of the 24 members of the Steel Troop with an ‘eagle eye’, adding her keen commentary and commentary.
The production team said, “Compared to seasons 1 to 3, a surprising number of elite female soldiers threw down the gauntlet and showed amazing performances throughout the missions,” adding, “Above all, we plan to include the actual training of female soldiers and shooting competitions on a grand scale, something that has never been seen in previous female survival shows.”
