Daniel Noboa received his second honorary doctorate

The President of the Republic, Daniel Noboa, participated in the solemn session for the 26th anniversary of the Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena (UPSE) and received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in recognition of his contribution to education and public service. The event took place on the evening of July 22, 2024, in the Civic Plaza of the institution.

UPSE rector Néstor Acosta explained that the award of the honorary degree to the president is due to his “academic, social, cultural and political career, for his relevant contribution to education and for his outstanding professional performance and public service in high positions.”

Daniel Noboa thanked the university for its gesture and said that this type of recognition commits him to continue working for the education, health and security of the country.

During his speech, he spoke of the importance of offering equal opportunities to Ecuadorian children, adolescents and young people. “This is the New Ecuador, in which Santa Elena plays a crucial role as a young and enthusiastic province that aspires to a better country,” said Noboa.

The president also highlighted the positive impact of UPSE and other educational institutions in the province on the development of approximately 18,000 students. He also assured that his government has provided thousands of financial aids to support the professional training of young people in Santa Elena and throughout the country.
