The branch called on “travelers on the Tarhuna-Bani Walid road or vice versa to take precautions against the Wadi Washtata flood.”

The Bani Walid Municipality warned those heading to or leaving the city to “be careful and cautious due to the presence of floods in the area linking the cities of Bani Walid and Tarhuna, as well as the road linking the cities of Bani Walid and Zliten.”

The head of the Ambulance and Emergency Department, Bani Walid branch, Muhammad Abu al-Niran, confirmed that “the department has set up several fixed and mobile ambulance points along the road linking Wadi Washtata and Wadi Dinar, north of Bani Walid.”

Abu Al-Niran added, in a statement to “Bawabat Al-Wasat”, that “the provision of ambulance points came as a result of the floods that occurred on Thursday evening, which led to the flow of some valleys.”

The official stated that “the ambulance service is working to implement a rapid response plan for any emergency resulting from weather fluctuations, in coordination with the city’s service, security and military agencies.”

Abu Al-Niran also called on “all those passing through the Bani Walid-Tarhuna road not to take this road at the present time and to take caution while driving due to the flow of torrents.”

The Security Directorate of the Four Regions announced this morning, Friday, that “the Dams Administration conducted a partial venting of the Wadi Al-Majinin Dam, due to the heavy rainfall in the mountainous areas.”
