Like its smaller siblings, the A8 has no integrated headphone amplifier or built-in phono stage. Anyone who sees this as a question should not change immediately. An external headphone amplifier can be easily connected. Just like a phono preamplifier. Eversolo wants to invest the costs saved for these assemblies in the highest quality units for its main purpose: streaming from as many sources as possible, D / A conversion at the highest level and preamp for active speakers or power amplifiers.
Phono fans will also be pleased to note that the analog input signals on the A8 are not digital, but are processed through a fully optimized, manual analog preamp. This means that the user is completely free to choose a phono preamplifier of any quality.
Thanks to USB ports, storage devices can also be connected. But the A8 also has an internal SSD connector, which can be accessed through a small flap at the bottom and accepts modern NVMe SSDs.
Eversolo A8 has a slot for M.2 NVMe SSDs.
Apple users will also be pleased that eversolo is one of the very few streams on the market that supports Apple Music in Hi-Res. In contrast to other streams with Apple Music, such as Sonos, the Hi-Res data here is not up- or down-sampled to 48 kHz, but is bit-perfectly improved thanks to its Android operating system, which is a significant optimization for music Playback.
