Travel YouTuber Kwak Tube, with 2.11 million subscribers, has revealed his newly opened office.
On the 30th, Kwak Tube uploaded a video titled ‘Opening of a luxury duplex office by a successful startup CEO’ on his channel.
Kwak Tube said, “People think that SM manages me since I joined SM C&C, but that’s not true.” He continued, “I manage YouTube separately. That’s why I’m trying to operate (the company) in earnest by signing potential travel creators with me. I’m just taking on the challenge. The first step to that challenge is the office. I’m looking for an office and trying to recruit talented creators.”
He said, “We started out in a small Mapo office and expanded to a rooftop office in Yeonam-dong,” and explained, “We did a lot of interior decoration because we were worried that the employees might be hot and tired. It might seem stupid to do a lot of interior decoration in a rented building, but we did a lot of interior decoration because the contract period was long.”
Kwaktube said about the reason why he spent a lot of money on the office interior, “If the employees are uncomfortable, they usually curse the boss first,” and “Because I cursed the bosses of our company the most. When I worked at a small business, I worked until 3 a.m. and went to company dinners with little pay, but my boss drove a Benz and stuff. I invested a lot in the office to eliminate that sense of deprivation as much as possible.”
Kwaktube toured the office with Jang Hyun-gil, a creator from his company named ‘Gyegok-eun Gaegol Gaegol’. He introduced a meat table, unfolded an electric awning, and said, “I spread money on rice cakes.”
Inside the duplex office, the lower floor had three employee seats and the latest computers installed, while the upper floor, where the CEO of Kwaktube sat, was decorated with the concept of a soccer player’s locker room.
On this day, famous travel YouTubers such as Pani Bottle, Wonji’s Day, and Captain Tagger attended the opening ceremony and cheered on Kwak Tube.
Meanwhile, Kwak Tube said about the rumor about his ’10 billion won in revenue’ on a broadcast, “I thought it was funny that it was reported in the news,” and “It’s so amazing that people believe that I made 10 billion won in 3 years when it seems like YouTubers make money so easily. It’s not even close to 10 billion won.”
