The Ambulance and Emergency Department instructed all its members to be stationed along the course of “Wadi Al-Majinin” after the Meteorological Center predicted heavy rains in some areas.
The agency said in its publication that it received a notification from the Ministry of Interior to raise the state of readiness in the areas of: Souq Al Khamis, Amsihel, Al Sayeh, Wadi Al Rabie, Al Hadaba, Abu Salim, Mizran, and all the way to the beach.
The Ministry also directed the valley to be drained in anticipation of it filling up with the amount of rain expected by the Meteorological Center.
In Zliten, the Crisis and Emergency Committee of the Zliten Municipality warned residents living near the “Wadi Majer” stream of the need to adhere to safety measures and take precautions against the flow of the stream.
The committee stressed the need to stay in places far from the valley and avoid going out except in cases of extreme necessity, avoid passing through low-lying areas and stay away from valleys and areas near waterways.
The National Center of Meteorology had indicated that scattered rains, interspersed with thunderstorms, would fall on the northwestern regions, especially “Gharyan – Mizdah – Nesma – Tarhuna – Mislata – Bani Walid”, causing some valleys to flow, warning citizens near the valleys to take caution.
