The Indian embassy in the capital, Kiev, says more than 1,400 Indian students have been successfully evacuated from the southeastern city of Zaporizhia with the help of embassy officials, of which 400 have been airlifted.

A statement issued in this regard stated:

As the weekend curfew has been lifted, all students are advised to travel to train stations to travel west.

Ukraine Railways operates special trains. So all Indian students have to be patient and be accommodating as a large crowd can be found at the railway stations.

Indian students are asked to bring only visa, money, food, winter clothing and essentials. Always be careful about your belongings. This was stated in a statement issued by the Embassy of India.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s ambassador to Ukraine Igor Polika has said that Ukraine is providing all possible assistance to evacuate Indians stranded in the country.
